Arsenal are looking at the possibility of signing a new striker this summer but Giroud is eager to play regularly with the World Cup coming up. With Danny Welbeck already at the club, a new signing would almost certainly force the Frenchman out. Lyon president Jean-Michael Aulas has admitted there would be some interest in including Giroud in a deal taking Alexandre Lacazette to the Emirates Stadium, but the Mirror report West Ham would be willing offer £20m for the 30-year-old striker. On top of that, they would offer him a £130,000-a-week contract, making the deal the biggest in the club’s history. Giroud’s current Arsenal contract runs to 2020 and was only signed in January but is currently France’s first choice striker and will want to defend his place for next summer’s World Cup in Russia. I personally think that if Olivier Giroud leaves this summer he will be deeply missed especially if Alexandre Lacazette doesn’t come to Arsenal as a replacement for Giroud.
